Bookkeepers process the businesses’ financial transactions from source documents such as invoices, receipts, bank and credit card statements. They are knowledgeable and able to provide advice regarding the day to day transactions.
Bookkeepers are now moving in to what is called the ‘advisory’ space that was previously held by accountants and look to provide analysis and reporting services for their clients businesses. It is possible for a bookkeeper to adequately manage your full accountancy requirements, however for larger businesses or those with more complex structures it can be beneficial to use independent bookkeepers and accountants.
At MANY Bookkeeping & Accountancy Services we are both qualified bookkeepers and accountants so for the majority of small businesses, sole traders or partnerships we can service your requirements fully. If however we feel you and your business would benefit from using the expert services of a larger accountancy practice we will always be transparent and tell you this and explain how we can all work together. We work with a few larger accountancy practices based locally and will gladly make an introduction if needed. Having both on board provides peace of mind – especially useful for busy business owners who are responsible for all the different activities required to run a business, not just bookkeeping and accounting but sales, marketing, administration and carrying out the work itself!
You can maintain your own bookkeeping, however, accounts can be time consuming and complex if you have a tax or VAT issue or are unsure of legislation relating to a particular area. If you are busy running your business it is likely that you lack the resources to spend time investigating these things and if you don’t enjoy it, you will soon struggle. On top of this, with all the responsibilities of running a business it’s all too easy to forget a deadline and HMRC apply penalties for late submissions or payments.
Asking the experts to look after it for you gives you peace of mind ensuring everything is running smoothly with the accounting side of your business and frees up your time to allow you to focus on other business activities.
Yes, absolutely. We are happy to liaise with your own accountants providing them with reconciliations for year end accounts and dealing with any queries they have.
Our aim is to make dealing with us as easy as possible. Wherever we can we like to set automations in place so that information is sent to us without you needing to do anything. Automation can be – asking or setting up your supplier accounts to send invoices directly to the accounting software or creating email rules so invoices are automatically forwarded on to us. Of course, there are times when the whizzes of technology don’t work for you and you still have physical paperwork. When that happens you can post it to us or bring it to the office and we will put it through our systems to generate electronic copies for you.
For annual services such as a personal tax return our prices do depend on a number of factors.
As you will appreciate the work involved when we’re preparing your accounts and tax return is dependant on the volume of transactions and the level of completeness we receive it in. There are many factors that can alter a fee so the easiest way to find out is to get in touch and we will provide you with a quote. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
